J’s Ruckus was formed to create a disturbance in the status quo of the various genres of music you enjoy the most. Are you bored with the same cover tunes from the same cover bands? J’s Ruckus performs infectious and up-lifting originals for audiences hungry for a memorable Jazz experience. They are Denver’s blend of post-bop, indie jazz, neo r&b, and hip-hop.
Their first live album (Sermons) together at the Soiled Dove Underground in Denver, CO on December 1st, 2018 and was released in July of 2019. Shortly after their first release; they received a grant to record their second album (Suck Less) on September 25th, 2019. Much like their first release; Suck Less was recorded live in front of a near-capacity crowd in Littleton, Colorado’s Waring Theater. It was released on February 28th, 2020. Their latest release, Quarantined Sessions, was recorded and released during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Each song (and video) was recorded in each musician’s home and then edited, mixed, and mastered remotely. They are currently working on a new release set for release in early 2022 and is a sound track for a new graphic novel written by R. Alan Brooks called Space-Ism.
